For AKU, the mountains are more than just a place to practice mountain sports. The mountains are life itself—tough, yet beautiful and sometimes unforgiving. When developing a new collection, the people who spend their lives in the mountains are always kept in mind.

AKU is an Italian company founded by Galliano Bordin, which grew from a small workshop into an industrial enterprise. The brand has over 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing high-quality hiking and trekking footwear. Continuous investments in new materials, technological designs, and craftsmanship have made AKU the undisputed leader in comfort and fit for all types of outdoor footwear applications.

Behind every model lies a genuine love for craftsmanship, rooted in the centuries-old prestigious tradition of Italian artisanship. Research into new technologies, design, and the most ecological production possible of the AKU trekking and outdoor collection primarily takes place at the production facility in Montebelluna, Italy, renowned as a hub for sports shoe manufacturing. A second in-house production facility in Romania handles another part of the AKU models.

The AKU collection is suitable for mountaineering, trekking, light hiking trips, and many other forms of active leisure activities.
